It was my first trip.

I basically fell in love.

Downside: I was so overwhelmed by ALL of the lovely that the only thing I walked away with was a bath mat [that I thought was on sale but wasn't].

One day and a good nights sleep later I went back for round 2 and picked up this beauty.

The Malm. Oh how I love you so [even if I had to put every piece of you together all. by. myself.] With your black/brown stain and your deeper than deep drawers...we're going to be together for awhile. I hope you don't mind that you're going to be joined by your sister, the headboard with hideaway storage.

Don't worry Flokati rug, there is room for you too.

You know where I'll be.

[this record is so amazing. she is amazing.]

KEEP IT REAL WEDNESDAY

a day late.

TARGET ROUND-UP

While there are some things that I cannot compromise on [like work pants and jeans] for the basics and sometimes some great finds Target is where its at. You should also know that I spend at least one hour a week at Target. You have to be careful because with the good comes the bad and I have made some terrible Target purchases [read: crappy seams, shrinking when washing]. Below are some of my latest greatest finds. I'll also say that the Mossimo tank tops that come in about 6 different colors are the best tank tops for layering [or the gym] ever.
Merona blue and white shirt dress. 100% true to size. Albeit a little see through, this dress is perfect for so many different reasons. [note: the first day i wore this to work i neglected to wear a slip and had to go out at lunch to buy some new 'intimate apparel' don't let that happen to you]
The color of this shirt is called 'baby duckling' - that alone should make you want it. If you're not convinced yet, the top has some super sweet smocking-like detail and it is a little empire waist fitted so nothing will be clinging to you. Oh, and it has rouching. If it has rouching I am probably going to buy it.
Rouching and puffy sleeves?! You really can't do wrong here. Scoop neck and a great weight cotton make this an everyday shirt that looks great with just about anything. It also comes in a few different colors + v-neck.
I love white sweaters. Especially thin ones that I know I'll be wearing at night for the entire month of June. This shirt has quickly become a favorite. Quickly. It feels like a tee that you've had for 10 years and I just can't stop wearing it. The birds look black but they are actually a chocolate brown...and those light blue stripes? I need more.

Writing this is making me want to go to Target...

SISTERS

I am so sorry to keep disappearing on you. This weekend my sister and I took a little road trip to New Jersey to see a few of our favorite bands. There was lots of laughing, lots or car karaoke and thankfully lots of sun. It was a two day music festival called The Baboozle and we'd been looking forward to it for months and months and months. We don't have pictures up yet but I will share them with you as soon as we do. People watching and the fascinating personalities were definitely highlights of the weekend.

The little note card above makes me smile because Becca and I are 10 years apart. You'd [usually] never know it though because we're that close. Sometimes I end up acting like her mom but, she always lets me know.

You can find this silhouette card as well as many others at Sarah + Abraham.

FABRIC FANATIC

{updated}

I have phases when I like to knit and then I have phases when I like to sew and then I have phases when I like to embroider. Basically I like it when my hands are busy. Usually I have three of the above projects going. This leads to a lot of stashing. A lot. I love finding new materials even if I don't have a use for them yet. While browsing Etsy last night I made some major finds...now all I have to do is decide!

I like the bottom two fabrics for a little girls dress

What about this for a pair of boys 'ankle biter' pants for the spring/summer? Fishie legs with polka dot cuffs?

This needs a coordinating larger print so that I can make a dress but I love its vintagey feel

What do you guys think?

Also...does anyone have any good sources for boy-ish fabric. There is SO much to choose from for the little ladies but the boy stuff...I think it is hard to find non-cheesy, not car or truck related fabric for boys. I like the classics like stripes and seersucker for the little men in our lives but I'd like to think outside the box and still achieve classic style.

A sneak peek into the shop update:
(the light gray and dark gray denote coordinating fabrics)

Shop Etsy: Starlit nest, Lucky Kaeru Fabric, down shadow lane

I am adding this from ReproDepot because I am in luuuuuurve with it. It is not something that I would/can carry in my shop because it just doesn't fit but man I need to make a little girlie a dress out of it:

Maybe even a summer top for me? Ooooh I love this so much. Add to cart.

JAMES JOYCE

I am really liking these prints a lot. The one above and the one below I think would be perfect in a children's room. I love the black and white town ... and the teal and orange...well...just delicious.
Ah..still loving the teal and orange.
This one just bowls me over. It makes me think a million things about chemicals and being green and all that but most of all ... most of all it makes me think that it is the perfect print to brighten up a laundry room. I mean you should have something to look at and love while you're sorting mountains of clothing and stain treating the heck out of them right?
